João Luís Barreto Guimarães nasceu no Porto em junho de 1967. Além de poeta e tradutor é médico, e publicou o seu primeiro livro em 1989. Claridade (2024) é o seu nono título na Quetzal, após a publicação da Poesia Reunida em 2011; Você está Aqui (2013); Mediterrâneo (2016, Prémio Nacional de Poesia António Ramos Rosa e Willow Run Poetry Book Award, EUA); Nómada (2018, Prémio Livro de Poesia do Ano Bertrand e Prémio Literário Armando da Silva Carvalho); a antologia O Tempo Avança por Sílabas (2019, publicada na Croácia, Macedónia e Brasil); Movimento (2020, Grande Prémio de Literatura DST); Aberto Todos os Dias (2023) e Poesia Reunida (2023). A sua obra está publicada em Espanha, França, Chéquia, Itália, Polónia, Egito, Grécia, Sérvia, Finlândia, Croácia, Macedónia, Brasil e EUA. Recebeu o Prémio Pessoa em 2022.
