He was a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, President of the BBS - Institute of Banking, Stock Exchange and Insurance Law, member of the Brazilian Academy of Civil Law, Legal Consultant and Vice-President of the Arbitration Center of the Lisbon Commercial and Industrial Association, with extensive experience in Arbitrations. Author of several works on Private and Business Law, he was a specialist in Banking, Stock Exchange and Insurance Law, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience as a non-executive director of two Credit Institutions and an Insurance Company.
