João Miguel Inocêncio Brites nasceu em Viseu. É licenciado em Engenharia Física pela Universidade do Porto, instituição na qual se encontra presentemente a realizar mestrado, também em Engenharia Física. Apesar da sua formação na área das ciências, nunca deixou de parte a literatura: sempre leu e gostou de ler, e, mais recentemente, após estudar as obras poéticas de autores portugueses como Fernando Pessoa, de escrever. Embora a sua área predileta seja a poesia, não exclui a possibilidade de futuramente publicar obras em prosa. Algures no Algures é o seu primeiro livro.
