Viveu os dramáticos acontecimentos que culminaram na anexação pela União Indiana da Índia Portuguesa: era oficial de cavalaria do esquadrão «Afonso de Albuquerque» e comandou a segunda divisão da Polícia do Estado da Índia. Foi preso pelos invasores indianos. Permaneceu em cativeiro durante 5 meses.
Colaborador dos jornais «Record» e «A Bola» (crónicas de desporto) e do jornal «Correio da Manhã» (crónicas de tauromaquia). Foi Vice- Presidente e Director do Departamento de Futebol do Sporting. Foi Presidente da Associação de Futebol de Lisboa e o primeiro Presidente da Liga de Futebol.
