Joana Pereira Bastos é licenciada em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, é jornalista do Expresso escreve nas áreas da Educação, Saúde Mental e Solidariedade Social. É coautora e apresentadora do podcast "Que Voz é Esta?", lançado em 2013 o livro Os Últimos Presos do Estado Novo, sobre os opositores da ditadura que estavam encarcerados em Caxias quando se deu o 25 de Abril. Em 2022, foi distinguida com o Prémio Gazeta de Imprensa, pelo trabalho "As Férias da Liberdade".
