Professora da Escola de Direito da Universidade do Minho e da Universidade Portucalense. Licenciada, Mestre e Doutora em Direito pela Universidade do Minho. Membro do Grupo de Especialistas, designado pela DG Justiça e Consumidores da Comissão Europeia, para a modernização da cooperação judiciária em matéria civil, designadamente os Regulamentos n.ºs 1206/2001 e 1393/2007. Investigadora Principal Convidada no Parlamento Europeu (2014).
