Para além disso, Jim Smith é autor de uma antiga série infantojuvenil que vendeu mais de 800 mil exemplares e foi traduzido para 17 línguas. Já foi vencedor do Roald Dahl Funny Prize e do LOLLIES – Laugh, out Loud Book Awards, prémio para os melhores e mais divertidos livros infantis, do Reino Unido e da Irlanda, votado pelas crianças.
