Jeremy Dronfield nasceu no País de Gales. Doutorado em Arqueologia, em Cambridge, é biógrafo, historiador e romancista. O seu primeiro romance, The Locust Farm, esteve na shortlist do prémio John Creasey Memorial para primeiras obras de policial. Entre os seus livros seguintes está The Alchemist's Apprentice, aclamado pela crítica. No domínio da não ficção, escreveu Beyond The Calle, Dr James Barry, entre outros. Tem também uma carreira como ghostwriter.
