O seu artigo «Deep Adaptation», descarregado mais de um milhão de vezes, é amplamente reconhecido por ter inspirado o surgimento do movimento Extinction Rebellion em 2018 e por ter dado origem a uma rede global dedicada à mitigação dos impactos perante a rutura social — o Deep Adaptation Forum.
Concluiu o doutoramento na Universidade de Bristol e a licenciatura em Geografia (com distinção) na Universidade de Cambridge.
