Jeffrey A. Lieberman é titular da cátedra Lawrence C. Kolb e presidente de Psiquiatria no Departamento de Medicina e Cirurgia da Universidade de Columbia, diretor do New York State Psychiatric Institute e psiquiatra-chefe do Centro Médico da Universidade de Columbia no Hospital Presbiteriano de Nova Iorque. Recebeu muitas distinções e prémios, incluindo o Prémio Lieber para a investigação sobre a esquizofrenia, da Brain and Behavior Research Association, o Prémio Stanley R. Dean para a investigação sobre a esquizofrenia, e o Prémio Neurociência, do International College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
