Jean Moréas

Nasceu em 1856. Descendente de uma distinta família atenienese destacamos a importância na sua vida de dois homens bem conhecidos da guerra da independência grega, o seu avô paterno e homónimo Ioannis Papadiamantopoulos e seu tio-avô materno Iakovos Tombazis. Seu pai era Adamantios Papadiamantopoulos, um juiz, estudioso e Poeta. Moreas recebeu educação francesa e foi para Paris em 1875 para estudar Direito na Universidade de Paris. Aí associou-se aos Les Hydropathes, um grupo de escritores franceses: Allfonse Allais, Charles Cros, Guy de Maupassant e Leon Bloy. Conheceu também um Artista grego Demetrios Galanis e o Poeta romeno Ion Minulescu. Morreu em Paris em 1910.
