Jean-Luc Lagarce

Jean-Luc Lagarce was born in Héricourt, France, on February 14, 1956. Author of a vast body of work for the theatre, collected in four volumes published by Les Solitaires Intempestifs (1999), he also wrote an essay... Théâtre et Pouvoir en Occident (2001), three prose texts, L'Apprentissage, Le Bain and Le Voyage à La Haye (2001) and several articles collected in volume Du Luxe et de l'Impuissance (1997). Director and co-founder of the company "Le Théâtre de la Roulotte," he staged, in addition to his own texts, works by authors as diverse as Kafka, Ionesco, Molière, and Wedekind. He died on September 30, 1995.
