Jean-Louis Laville
Jean-Louis Laville is Director of Research at the Collège d'Etudes Mondiales de Paris, Professor of Solidarity Economy at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métires (CNAM), researcher at LISE (CNRS-CNAM) and IFRIS, member of the Board of Directors of the Karl Polanyi Institute of Political Economy, founding member and director of the EMES International Research Network, and founding member of the Latin American Network of Researchers in Social and Solidarity Economy (RILESS).
In 1994 he published the book Solidarity economy: an international perspectivewhich would become a benchmark in studies on the solidarity economy.
He currently directs several book collections in France – Sociologie Economique, Solidarité et Société and Poiesis & Praxis – and is a member of the editorial board of International Dictionary of the Other Economy, published in Portugal in 2009 by the CES-Almedina collection.
