Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, was born on December 4, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York. He is one of the most influential and successful rappers, producers, and entrepreneurs in music history. Jay-Z began his music career in the '90s and quickly gained notoriety for his lyrical talent, fluent style, and ability to tell stories through his rhymes.

Jay-Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996), is now considered a hip-hop classic, with tracks like "Dead Presidents II" and "Can't Knock the Hustle" standing out. This album established Jay-Z as an emerging force in the rap scene. In the following years, he released a series of acclaimed albums, including In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 (1997) and Vol. 2... The Black Album (2003) also came to prominence, initially being announced as his last album before retiring. However, Jay-Z returned to music with Kingdom Come (2006) and released other successful albums, including American Gangster (2007) and 4:44 (2017), an album that was widely praised for its honesty and introspection.

In addition to his music career, Jay-Z is a successful entrepreneur, with investments in various industries, including fashion, sports, and technology. He is the founder of Roc-A-Fella Records and the clothing brand Rocawear, and was also a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team. Jay-Z was the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and is considered a central figure in pop culture.

Married to singer Beyoncé, Jay-Z is also known for his cultural impact and for collaborating with his wife on several musical projects, including the album Everything Is Love (2018), released under the name The Carters. Jay-Z is widely respected not only for his musical talent, but also for his role as a mentor and cultural icon.
