Jacques Droz, nasceu em Paris a 12 de março de 1909 e morreu em Paris a 3 março de 1998. É um historiador francês especializado na história do mundo germânico e ideias políticas (liberalismo, o socialismo, o fascismo). Foi professor na Faculdade de Letras de Clermont-Ferrand entre 1947 e 1962 onde foi reitor. Em 1962 chegou à Sorbonne, e rapidamente assumiu a liderança da nova Universidade de Vincennes. Terminou sua carreira na Sorbonne em 1972.
