Apresenta-se do seguinte modo: "Pelos doze anos, leu a Metamorfose de Kafka, o Drácula de Bram Stoker, as Aventuras dos Cinco de Enid Blyton e a História de O de Pauline Réage. Começou também a espreitar em Tolstoy e Dostoevsky. É bem de ver que estas leituras pouco edificantes ¿ afora Os Cinco ¿ não podiam dar grande resultado. Como referência familiar semi- abonatória, diga-se que é irmão semi-gémeo do astrofilósofo José Prudêncio. São tão parecidos que ele próprio tem dificuldades em se distinguir."
