Isidro Pereira Lamelas é Natural de Penude, concelho de Lamego e membro da Ordem Franciscana (OFM), desde 1986. Licenciou-se em Teologia pela UCP (1990) e em Ciências Patrísticas (1994), pelo Instituto Patrístico Augustinianum (Roma). Em 1998 concluiu o doutoramento em Teologia patrística na Universidade Gregoriana (Roma). É, desde 2000, professor na Universidade Católica Portuguesa e, desde 2013, diretor da revista Didaskalia. É ainda fundador e diretor da Coleção de Textos Patrísticos Philokalia. Tem publicado artigos e livros sobre o cristianismo das origens e o pensamento patrístico, o último dos quais editado na UCE, com o título: Sim Cremos. O Credo comentado pelos Padres da Igreja (UCE 2013).
