Ishmael Beah

Ishmael Beah nasceu na Serra Leoa em 1980. Mudou-se para os Estados Unidos, em 1998, e concluiu os dois últimos anos do secundário na Escola Internacional das Nações Unidas em Nova Iorque. Em 2004 formou-se pelo Oberlin College com um bacharelato em Ciências Políticas.
É membro do Human Rights Watch Children’s Rights Division Advisory Committee e falou perante as Nações Unidas, o Council on Foreign Relations e o Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities (CETO), no Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. Os seus trabalhos foram publicados pela VespertinePress e pela revista LIT. Vive em Nova Iorque
