Isabel Vaz Ponce de Leão

Born in Coimbra, she is married and a full professor at the Fernando Pessoa University in Porto, where she resides. An integrated member of the Centre for Lusophone and European Literatures and Cultures, where she coordinates the Porto branch, she is also a founding member and vice-president of the Agustina Bessa-Luís Literary Circle. She is also a member of the Inter-institutional Commissions of the Fernando Pessoa Institute – Portuguese Language and Lusophone Culture, and the Luís de Camões Lusophone Academy. She collaborates with various higher education institutions in Europe, Africa, and America. Her research focuses on the interaction of literature with other arts. She is the author and co-author of approximately 25 books and more than 125 articles. She also dedicates herself to art criticism, collaborating with galleries and visual artists.
