O Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto é uma instituição de saúde de referência nacional e internacional no domínio do tratamento, investigação e ensino do cancro com o objetivo de garantir elevados níveis de qualidade, humanismo e eficiência na prestação de cuidados de saúde oncológicos centrados no doente.
Posiciona-se na rede pública de cuidados hospitalares como instituição altamente diferenciada e é a unidade de referência de última linha em cuidados oncológicos da Região Norte. Acolhe para tratamento cerca de 10 mil novos doentes por ano, sendo o único Centro Compreensivo de Cancro em Portugal reconhecido pela Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI).
