Imma Monsó publicou, em 1996, o seu primeiro romance, No se sap mai, cuja tradução para espanhol, Nunca se sabe, mereceu o XXI Prémio Tigre Juan, em 1997. O segundo, Como una vacaciones, obteve, em 1998, o Prémio Prudenci Bertrana e foi eleito, no mesmo ano, o melhor romance em língua catalã pela Associació d’Esciptors em Llengua Catalana. O seu terceiro romance, Todo un carácter, que teve um grande êxito junto da crítica e do público, o livro de contos Mejor que no me lo expliques - Prémio Ciutat de Barcelona de narrativa - consolidaram-na como a grande esperança das letras catalãs.
