Holly Farrell passou dois anos nos Jardins Wisley, no Surrey, Reino Unido, que fazem parte da Sociedade Real de Horticultura (Royal Horticultural Society). Aí, obteve um diploma em Practical Horticulture e o Certificado e Diploma RHS (ambos com louvor), e ganhou o Prémio Nicholson pelo seu contributo geral para os Jardins Wisley, enquanto estagiária.

Depois de trabalhar como jardineira-chefe em propriedades privadas, atualmente conjuga o design de jardins para clientes particulares com a sua carreira enquanto escritora de artigos e livros de jardinagem.
