Hernâni Cidade

Hernâni Cidade, (Redondo, 1887 - Évora, 1975). Ensaísta e investigador, foi professor de liceu em Coimbra, Porto, Lisboa o Leiria. Doutorado em Filologia Românica, foi professor da Faculdade de Letras no Porto e em Lisboa. Estudioso da obra de Camões, foi colaborador da História de Portugal, de Barcelos, das revistas A Águia, e Seara Nova, bem como das revistas da faculdade de Letras de Lisboa e da do Porto, e de vários jornais, em especial O Primeiro de Janeiro. Dirigiu o Diário Liberal e fundou a Colóquio - Revista de Artes e Letras e mais tarde a Colóquio/Letras, ambas editadas pela Fundação Gulbenkian.
