Henri Fayol

Henri Fayol (1841-1925), francês, foi engenheiro e um dos teóricos clássicos da ciência da gestão, sendo considerado um dos seus fundadores.
Criou o Centro de Estudos Administrativos, onde se reuniam semanalmente pessoas interessadas na gestão de negócios comerciais, industriais e governamentais, contribuindo para a difusão das doutrinas administrativas.
Foi diretor-geral da Companhia de Commentry-Fourchambault-Decazeville onde provou os seus dotes de excelente gestor ao recuperar a empresa de uma situação extremamente difícil.
Após 58 anos de estudos, investigação e observação reuniu as suas ideias na seminal obra Administration industrielle et générale que publicou pela primeira vez em 1918.
