Heino Engel

Heino Engel estudou Arquitetura na Alemanha e, após um longo período de viagens pelo Oriente Médio e a Ásia, de 1952 a 1964 viveu entre o Japão e os Estados Unidos.
Tendo se tornado um profundo conhecedor da arquitetura nipônica, também dirigiu seu próprio escritório de arquitetura e urbanismo.
É o autor de The Japanese House: A Tradition for Contemporary Architecture (1964), Measure and Construction of the Japanese House (1985) e do clássico Sistemas estruturais, publicado em espanhol e português por esta editora e originariamente em alemão em 1967.
