Haideia Avelino Pires

Haideia Avelino Pires nasceu na cidade da Praia, Cabo Verde, em 1942. Feitos os estudos primários e secundários no seu país, cursou Filologia Românica, nas Faculdades de Letras de Coimbra e de Lisboa. Militante do Partido Africano para a Independência da Guiné e Cabo Verde (PAIGC), participou na luta clandestina pela libertação das colónias portuguesas, antes de partir para a França, em 1970. Depois de 30 anos dedicados ao ensino de Linguística histórica e diacrónica, Literatura portuguesa, Thèmes (tradução de textos literários), na Université de la Sorbonne-Paris 3, reformou-se em 2009.
