Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer

Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer é uma figura ímpar no romantismo castelhano.
Viveu uma vida breve: nasceu em Sevilha, em fevereiro de 1836, vindo a falecer em Madrid, sem completar trinta e cinco anos de idade, em dezembro de 1870. A sua obra também não é longa, quase se limitando a um volume de poemas, publicado com o título "Rimas", que se encontra traduzido em português com o título "Lendas", publicado pela Assírio, e a dois pequenos conjuntos de ensaios redigidos sob a forma epistolar, "Desde mi celda" e "Cartas literarias a una mujer".
