Guillaume Sorel nasce em 1966, em Cherbourg. Depois de frequentar a Escola de Artes Aplicadas em Lyon e a de Belas-Artes em Paris, inicia a sua carreira em revistas e junto de editores de jogos de personagens. Lança-se na banda desenhada em 1991, com a série L’Île des morts em colaboração com Mosdi (Éditions Vents d’Ouest). Em 2009, Guillaume Sorel desvenda uma nova faceta do seu talento com o magnífico preto e branco Mâle de mer, num argumento de Laëtitia Villemin, também na Casterman.
