Gisela Silva é professora de Português do Ensino Básico e Secundário e doutorada em Literatura infantojuvenil. Foi investigadora no CIEC da Universidade do Minho. Desenvolve estudos e é formadora de projetos de mediação leitora e escrita criativa. É, ainda, autora e coautora de livros de Leitura e Mediação Leitora e membro do júri do Conto Infantil Ilustrado das Correntes d’Escritas e Porto Editora. Ultimamente, tem-se dedicado à escrita de livros infantojuvenis, com mais de uma dezena de títulos publicados.
