Giorgio Bassani

Giorgio Bassani is one of the great European writers of the 20th century. His work has been awarded the Veillon, Strega, Campiello, Viareggio and Nelly Sachs literary prizes. His most important books are gathered in a larger work entitled Il romanzo de Ferrara.
In addition to being a writer, Bassani was the editor of the legendary Feltrinelli publishing house, where he published names such as Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. According to The Guardian, "Giorgio Bassani is one of the great witnesses of the 20th century and one of its greatest artists."
