Gilles Clément
Gilles Clément (Argenton-sur-Creuse, 1943) is a French gardener, landscape architect, botanist, and essayist. He has been a professor at the School of Landscape Architecture in Versailles since 1980 and is the architect of several parks and public spaces, such as the Le Domaine du Rayol gardens (Var), the Matisse park (Lille), the gardens of the Musée du Quai Branly (Paris), and the André Citroën park (Paris).
He wrote several books related to landscape design, as well as novels, essays, and other publications in collaboration with artists, and published the fundamental treatise on contemporary landscape design. The Garden in Motion (2012) and Third Landscape Manifesto (2018), both published by Gustavo Gili publishing house.
