George Macdonald Fraser

George MacDonald Fraser (1925-2008) served in a Scottish Regiment in India and the Middle East, worked in the press in Great Britain and Canada, and, in addition to the Flashman series, published many other successful novels, the last of which was Black Ajax. Thousands of readers worldwide have also enjoyed the three volumes of short stories about Private McAuslan. He wrote numerous screenplays, notably The Three Musketeers, The Four Musketeers, and a James Bond film, Octopussy.
