Gene Luen Yang

Gene Luen Yang escreve e, por vezes, desenha, banda desenhada e novelas gráficas. Enquanto quinto Embaixador Nacional para a Literatura Juvenil da Biblioteca do Congresso dos Estados Unidos da América, defende a importância da leitura, e especialmente da leitura que observa a diversidade. A sua novela gráfica American Born Chinese, finalista do National Book Award e vencedora do Printz Award, foi adaptada a uma série de streaming. A sua novela gráfica em dois volumes Boxers & Saints venceu o LA Times Book Prize e foi finalista do National Book Award. A sua novela gráfica de não ficção Dragon Hoops recebeu um Eisner Award e um galardão Printz. Algumas das suas outras obras no género da banda desenhada incluem Secret Coders (com Mike Holmes), The Shadow Hero (com Sonny Liew) e ainda Superman Smashes the Klan e a série Avatar: The Last Airbender (ambos com Gurihiru). Em 2016, foi nomeado membro da MacArthur Foundation.
