Gellert Tamas é hoje um dos mais conhecidos jornalistas da Suécia. Escreve para o mais importante diário do país, o Dagens Nyheter, e colabora num dos principais canais de televisão, TV4. Foi distinguido com o prestigiado prémio Guldspaden pelo seu trabalho em O Assassino do Laser, que vendeu cerca de 200.000 exemplares na Suécia e que está agora a ser traduzido numa dezena de países. O livro foi adaptado a uma mini-série televisiva, também premiada. Gellert Tamas é ainda autor do romance De Apatiska (The Apathetic), publicado em 2008.
