Gary Van Haas licenciou-se na UCLA School of Journalism e passou os últimos vinte anos a viver na Grécia, viajando pelos destinos mais misteriosos, em busca das suas culturas indígenas, costumes, mitologia e locais arqueológicos. Actualmente encontra-se a trabalhar como romancista e desenvolveu um sentido apurado pela região denominada de «Helas». Recentemente terminou outra sequela do thriller O Ícone na sua série de aventuras de acção de Garth Hanson denominadas Malabar Run, cujo plano de acção se desenrola nos trópicos sumptuosos de Goa, na Índia, estando ainda para ser publicado.
