Frank Viva é ilustrador e designer. A sua vasta obra inclui álbuns para várias editoras, entre as quais o prestigiado MoMA (Museu de Arte Moderna de Nova Iorque), para quem criou dois livros, que dedicou ao arquiteto Frank Lloyd Wright e às realizadoras de cinema. Colabora regularmente com a revista New Yorker e com o New York Times. Ao Longo da Longa Estrada foi o seu primeiro livro para crianças.
