Frank Schatzing estudou comunicação e criou uma empresa de publicidade em Colónia. Escreve desde 1990 e publicou o seu primeiro romance, Tod und Teufel, em 1995, e Lautlos, o seu primeiro thriller, em 2000. Com O Quinto Dia (Dom Quixote, 2007), alcançou grande notoriedade, nacional e internacional. Esse livro não só se tornou um best seller, como foi sempre muito elogiado pelo conhecimento que revela de biologia marítima, geologia e geofísica. Limite é o seu mais recente livro.
