Francisco Varatojo (1960-2017) foi fundador do Instituto Macrobiótico de Portugal. Começou a estudar Macrobiótica em 1977 no Instituto Kushi de Boston, onde foi assistente pessoal de Michio Kushi, um dos reputados seguidores do fundador da Macrobiótica moderna, George Ohsawa. Foi a grande referência no nosso país como consultor macrobiótico qualificado, tendo proferido diversas palestras e participado em numerosas conferências por todo o mundo. Colaborou em diversos jornais e revistas, bem como em programas televisivos.
