Estágios nas universidades norte-americanas de Davis, Tucson e do Colorado e na universidade francesa de Montpellier.

Professor associado (aposentado) da Universidade de Évora, onde leccionou as disciplinas de Matemática, Hidrologia, Hidráulica Geral, Matemática aplicada à Engenharia, Movimento da água no solo e Modelação hidrológica.
Diversos trabalhos publicados no domínio da Estatística e Modelação hidrológica, do Movimento da água no solo e da Optimização numérica.
