Francisco Máximo foi jornalista toda a vida. Como profissional, trabalhou no velho jornal O Século.
Esteve no Diário de Notícias, onde integrou o grupo dos 24, saneados por questões políticas. Foram os tempos do sr. Saramago; Luís de Barros; Mário Ventura Henriques; José Jorge Letria e outros. Passou pela chefia de redação da Revista Sábado, andou pela Rádio Comercial e esteve na direção da Agência Noticiosa Portuguesa (ANOP).
Terminou a carreira jornalística na TVI onde foi autor, editor e apresentador dos programas País Real, Portugal Português e Isto é Portugal.
Publica agora a sua mais recente obra Gulosas e Atrevidas, sob a chancela da Oficina da Escrita.
