Francisco José Lopes

Holding a degree in History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, he was a primary and secondary school teacher from 1978 to 2014, having worked in several schools across the country (Elvas, Espinho, Portalegre and Torre de Moncorvo) but particularly in Alfândega da Fé.
He has published about fifteen books in the field of history and five books of poetry. In the Time of the Muses, 1999, self-published, Vila Nova de Gaia, (2nd edition, by CMAFE, 2001); Memories of Time, 2001, self-published, Vila Nova de Gaia; In the Time of Words, 2003, published by CMAFE, Porto; Percursos, published by Lema d'Origem, Águeda, 2014; Just Dawn, published by Lema d'Origem, Águeda, 2018.
It is represented in the following anthologies: "Between sleep and dreams"Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, Vol. V, Chiado Editora, 2014; "40 Poets from Trás-os-Montes Today", vol. He contributed to the VII Poetry Notebooks – 2021, of the Artur Bual Artistic and Cultural Circle. His poetic work was critically addressed in Writings from the Northeast – Essays and reviews on Transmontane authors, Carviçais, Lema d'Origem, 2017 and Tonalities of Transmontane Literature, Lisbon, Guerra e Paz Editores, 2020, by Norberto Veiga.
