Francisco Cantanhede é licenciado em Ciências Históricas. Foi professor de História (3.º ciclo) e de História e Geografia de Portugal (2.º ciclo) durante mais de 25 anos, encontrando-se na situação de aposentado. Autor de manuais escolares de HGP e História, há mais de 20 anos. Formador de professores no âmbito da didática da História. Tem participado com comunicações em escolas básicas e secundárias, nomeadamente, sobre o «Estado Novo» e o 25 de Abril de 1974, e em colóquios sobre educação. Colabora com o Jornal o Setubalense – Diário Região com artigos de opinião.
