O autor, Fortunato da Câmara é um gastrónomo exigente e interessado na história dos alimentos. Frequentou o curso de Produção Alimentar em Restauração na Escola Superior de Hotelaria do Estoril e com o aparecimento do semanário SOL iniciou-se na escrita como crítico de restaurantes do guia Essencial. Desde a fundação do jornal foi responsável pelas rubricas Acabado de chegar, Baú de Sabores e actualmente Encontro de Tradições. Assinou igualmente trabalhos na área da gastronomia na revista Tabu. É autor do apontamento radiofónico Na Rota das Iguarias, crónica semanal sobre história da alimentação na rádio SIM, do grupo Renascença.
