Filomena Silva é natural de Castelões de Cepeda, Concelho de Paredes, distrito do Porto.
Completou o Magistério Primário em 1976. Em 1999 licenciou-se em Gestão e Administração Escolar. O seu percurso profissional foi o ensino.
Participa regularmente em concursos literários e revistas culturais.
Em 2010 lançou o seu primeiro livro "VIDAS" em coautoria.
Depois de aposentada, a escrita tomou um lugar de destaque na sua vida, lançando o segundo livro em 2022 "Retalhos da Manta da Vida".
Tendo descoberto que com a escrita se reconstrói, junta pedaços e recomeça, em 2023 lançou o terceiro livro "Das Raízes ao Céu".
Os seus temas frequentemente refletem a vida, a superação, a resiliência e a busca por um propósito.
