Nasceu em Espinho (1945). É Doutorado em Gestão de Empresas e Arquiteto pela Faculdade de Arquitetura (ex-UTL).
No âmbito da sua carreira de docente, lecionou diversas cadeiras.
Tem diversos hobbies: Vela, Coros, Teatro, Música, Cinema, Desenho, Aviação, Fotografia...
Bolseiro da Fulbright, da Fundação Gulbenkian, da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa. Publicou vários artigos para enciclopédias, jornais diários, jornais académicos e revistas da especialidade.
Autor do livro O Pica-Orelhas, da editora Caleidoscópio.
