Fernando Cardoso

Fernando Cardoso was born in Porto, but at the age of four he moved to Lisbon, where he worked his way up through hard work. He started working at the age of twelve. He was Secretary-General of the Civil Government of Setúbal, director of litigation at Shell Portugal, SA and later, a lawyer and university professor of Law and Children's and Young Adult Literature. However, his "great passion" has always been the "world of letters".
He is one of the best writers of children's and young adult literature, with some of his books having achieved the highest number of editions in Portugal. Flowers for Children (34th); New Flowers for Children (29th); Brand New Flowers for Children (9th); Puss in Boots' Invitation (9th); The Two Princes (7th); Tani (4th); A Trip to Mars (3rd); I am I and I Am II (3rd); Crafts with Various Materials (two volumes, 3rd edition); Snow White and Black Coal (2nd); David on the Planet of the Dinosaurs, Nobody and the Bluebird, The Thief of a Baby Jesus and The Treasure of Childhood.
Given the success of the book Flowers for ChildrenThe same text is translated into English, French, and Spanish: Flowers for Children, Flowers for Children and Flowers for Children.
He is the author of the following plays: Intelligent students...; Dialogue with the Little Prince; Blessed blackout! (Theatre in School Collection) and Bocage, Himself!
A notable poet, he published six books of poems: My Green Field (6th ed.); I love, therefore I am! (4th ed.); The Child's Universe; The Cycle of Life in Friendly Verses and Old Postcards (2nd ed); My Memorial and My Spirit, my Feeling.
He is considered the João de Deus of our time, both as a poet and as an educator. He was the Director of Culture for Elos Internacional da Comunidade Lusíada and has been the President of the Elos Clube de Lisboa since 2015.
He compiled the only national anthology of popular poetry, a collection comprising four volumes. Because of this, he was invited to present a segment on television. Popular Poets.
Over fifty textbooks include short excerpts from his diverse and extensive body of work.
He is also the author of several law books: Dissolution of Private Legal Entities; Reduction of the Share Capital of Public Limited Companies; The Autonomy of Will in Private International Law; Reflections on Commercial or Industrial Establishments and their Respective Lease Agreements.
Given his body of significant work, he was awarded the "Palme d'Or" by International Academy of Pontzen.
