Fernando Cabral Pinto é Doutor em Ciências da Educação pela Universidade do Porto e Mestre em filosofia contemporânea pela Universidade de Coimbra. Tem desenvolvido atividades de docência e investigação nas áreas da filosofia da história, da política e da educação. Publicou, entre outros, os seguintes livros: A Heresia Política de Espinosa, Livros Horizonte, Lisboa, 1990; A Formação humana no projeto da modernidade, Instituto Piaget, Lisboa, 1996; Sócrates, um "filósofo bastardo" (2ª edição), Instituto Piaget, Lisboa, 2002; A idade da realização, na história da vida, na vida da história, Instituto Piaget, Lisboa, 2011; Educação, História e políticas.
