Fátima Pombo é autora da trilogia O Desenhador (2003), As Cordas (2005), O Bairro dos Poetas (2007), editada pela Teorema.
Entre outras obras suas, destacam-se duas biografias da violoncelista portuguesa Guilhermina Suggia (1993, 1996), Traços de Música (com tradução espanhola, 2001), Amor e Morte.
O Sabor Amargo das Amêndoas (2004), histórias juvenis da série Rafa (Trinta por Uma Linha) e infantis da série A Menina Azul (Trinta Por Uma Linha).
Foi professora durante vários anos no Departamento de Arquitectura da Universidade de Leuven, Bélgica e é professora associada com agregação no Departamento de Comunicação e Arte da Universidade de Aveiro.
Estudou Música no Conservatório de Música do Porto.
