Fernando Machado (Gil Mendaz), supõe-se ter sido um escritor satírico, autor de livros como Histórias Pouco Sérias: Ensaios Humoristicos (Liv. Ferreira, 1915), e coautor, com A. Vitor Machado e Virgílio Simões, de Ouro sobre Azul: Operêta Popular em Três Actos (Liv. Ferreira & Franco, 19—), opereta que, segundo informação reproduzida na folha de rosto do exemplar da Biblioteca do Museu Nacional do Teatro e da Dança, terá sido «representada no Teatro Apolo de Lisboa na noite de 5 de agosto de 1928 e em variados teatros particulares com geral agrado».
