No decurso da sua atividade de investigação, desenvolveu hardware para sistemas embebidos, coprocessadores de escalonamento de tráfego para barramentos de campo e trabalhou em aspetos de scaling de circuitos digitais CMOS, lógica em modo de corrente e dispositivos memresistivos.

Como parte integrante da sua atividade pedagógica, lecionou disciplinas de arquitetura de computadores, análise de circuitos, sistemas digitais, eletrónica analógica, instrumentação eletrónica e eletrónica digital.

Orientou também diversos projetos de dissertação de Mestrado nas áreas dos sistemas embebidos e da eletrónica digital.
